After accept, and only together

The default remains a coarse area. Private chat still opens on accept. Precision finding is an extra, later choice for two people who already matched and both want a tighter find — a crowded West Acres lot, a union full of jackets that look alike. If either person does not opt in, it does not run.

Supported iPhones, not a promise to every device

Nearby Interaction and ultra-wideband depend on what Apple supports on that phone. Help Me does not invent a radar for hardware that cannot do it. If the phones cannot participate, meet the way the rest of the product already works: a public place label and a chat.

What this is not

It is not live tracking on the open map. It is not a way to skip consent. It is not available as a spectator feature for other helpers. Completion still ends exact location sharing. Public meeting places remain the default advice even when the radios are fancy.

Questions people actually ask

Is precision finding on by default?

No. Both people must opt in. The open map stays a coarse area.

Does this work on every iPhone?

Only on supported iPhones. If the hardware cannot participate, use a public meeting place and chat. We do not fake UWB.

Can I use it to find someone who has not accepted?

No. Precision finding is for two people already in a request who both opt in. Offers stay private and coarse until then.
