MSUM Public Safety: 218-477-2449. 911 for danger. Moorhead Police for the city. You are in Clay County. If you walk to Broadway after dinner, you crossed into Fargo and Cass County — fun, and a different city desk if something goes wrong.
How to spend the week without getting stranded
Walk the indoor public places in daylight: union, library, the paths you will actually use at 9 p.m. Official MSUM events show in Help Me with attribution. Concordia is next door; their calendar is a separate source, not the same school.
- Put Public Safety in your phone before you put new friends in a group chat.
- MATBUS U-Pass details live on matbus.com — confirm student fare rules there.
- Ask Help Me for a study table or directions. Ask Public Safety for an official escort or a campus jump.
- Food and money stress: 211 and campus basic-needs pages, not a helper chat.
When the first week stops being logistical
Homesick is human. Panic that will not come down is 988 or campus counseling. Threats are 911. Do not test whether a neighbor can substitute for any of that.

Can Public Safety jump my car off campus?
MSUM describes on-campus jumps and a short radius. Read their current services page. Off campus, a neighbor or a shop.
