NDSU move-in weekend, without turning the hallway into a gig board
Everyone is carrying something. That does not make a stranger with a current approval into a moving crew, and it does not replace residence life.
Use official move-in first
NDSU publishes move-in instructions, load-in maps, and hall contacts on official channels. Follow those. Housing staff and the people they schedule are the ones allowed in staff-only areas. Help Me helpers are not.
What you can actually ask a neighbor for
A pair of hands from a public lot to a public door. A jump when the car dies in a move-in line. Directions to a hall you cannot see from 19th Avenue. That is the size of it.
- Meet at a named public point: Union, a lot entrance, a hall lobby if it is open to guests under hall rules.
- Do not post your room number as a meeting label.
- Parents can carry boxes. Helpers should not be invited to ride an elevator into a residential floor as a workaround.
- If someone is injured, 911 or NDSU Police — 701-231-8998 for non-emergency campus police, 911 for emergency.
The weekend will be loud. The rules stay quiet.
Approved helpers only. Coarse area on the map. Private chat. Public meeting places. Two-hour window. One live request. Not a paid crew. If you need a truck, hire a truck. If you need campus security, call campus security.

Can I hire a helper to move a whole apartment?
No. Help Me is not a paid moving marketplace. Ask for a short public hand or hire a mover.
Can a parent use Help Me?
Adults in Fargo–Moorhead can use the app. It is not a youth program. Helping still needs a current staff approval.
