Public meeting places you can actually name in a chat

If you cannot say the place out loud to a friend, do not put it in a request.

1. NDSU Memorial Union

Indoor, public, named. The default for north Fargo campus asks. Not a residence hall lounge.

2. MSUM and Concordia campus centers

Unions and Knutson. Same rule: indoor public, then walk to the lot together if the car is the job.

3. Fargo Public Library — Main

101 4th St. N. Staffed, downtown, free patron parking as the city describes it. Only during open hours.

4. Carlson and Northport libraries

South Fargo and north Broadway branches. Same library system, same open-hours rule.

5. West Acres vestibules and food court

The mall is a winter living room. Meet inside. Jump the car in a busy row, not the last lamp after close.

6. Grocery entrances

Hornbacher’s, Cash Wise, and the other lit vestibules people already know. Cameras, other shoppers, a door that opens from the inside.

7. Broadway lobbies and sidewalks

Downtown Fargo’s named street. After midnight still prefer a staffed doorway over a quiet park edge.

8. Center Avenue, Moorhead

The Minnesota-side equivalent. Different police. Same public-place logic.

9. Downtown parking ramp lobbies

Elevators and pay stations other people use. Fine for a walk-to-the-car ask. Abandoned upper decks at 2 a.m. are a worse plan if you have the lobby.

Questions people actually ask

What if the helper wants to meet at my apartment?

Say no. Public place. If they push, leave and report.

Is a park public enough?

Daylight with other people, sometimes. After dark, indoor public or a staffed lot.

Help Me is a community app for adults in Fargo–Moorhead. It is not a K–12 student program, not a youth chat, and not campus police.
