The daily brief
The day’s orientation, not a newspaper, not a streak. Enough to see the metro, then one tap into the map.
What you see when you open Home
A welcome. A line that the community is within reach. A live-map card that reminds you help stays approximate until you share more with an accepted helper, and a button to open that map. Then at-a-glance tiles — active requests, open help areas, and the other local counts — plus upcoming campus and regional events with attribution still attached.
Why it is not a feed
The brief should make Fargo–Moorhead feel present without turning your morning into a performance. It is not a public list of who needed help. It is not pushy. Community remains the full calendar. The map remains where an ask happens.
What it will not become
We do not invent weather drama or fake “helpers near you” counts to juice the tiles. If there are zero open help areas, Home can say zero. Honesty at a glance is still honesty.
Questions people actually ask
Is the daily brief personalized news?
It is Home’s local orientation — map, counts, official events — not a media product and not a public request feed.
Do I need to share location to see Home?
Home orients you to Fargo–Moorhead. Exact location is still opt-in after a helper accepts. The brief is not a pin on you.
Where do the event tiles come from?
Official sources we ingest, attributed and linked. Home shows a short rail. Community is the full calendar.
