Homeless services — call official programs, not a neighbor app

If you need a bed tonight, this page is the direction. Help Me cannot house you, and a helper cannot be a shelter.

Start with 211

Beds, hours, and eligibility change with the night. Dial 211. In this metro, FirstLink answers 211 for North Dakota and Clay County (myfirstlink.org; 701-235-7335). Tell them where you are standing and whether anyone with you is a child, a woman fleeing violence, a man 18+, or a veteran. They will route, not lecture.

Known local programs (confirm before you go)

What Help Me is not

Not intake. Not a waitlist. Not a place to send someone to “see if a helper has a couch.” If you are trying to help a person who is unhoused, walk with them to 211 or to one of these doors. Do not make them a request on a map.

Questions people actually ask

Can I request housing on Help Me?

No. Call 211 or the official shelters on this page.

Should I send a helper to check on someone sleeping outside?

If they appear in medical danger, 911. Otherwise 211 or an outreach/shelter program. Do not deputize a stranger from an app.

Help Me is a community app for adults in Fargo–Moorhead. It is not a K–12 student program, not a youth chat, and not campus police.
